Big God Yes

There’s a surge of people expressing their experiences with the Law of Attraction, a life process known by great achievers throughout the earth. Some feel it’s about vision boards and mantras. Others believe you must think of something for a long period of time as a separate exercise of some sort. Few understand the deeper, subtle, and complex facets of it all in every moment of our lives.

Science now knows there is a force fields all around us. Dark matter is what we used to call space. There is no “space” there is only matter in different forms. We literally mold our lives from the matter around us, like molding clay with our thoughts.

Besides the quantum-physics aspect of the law of attraction, there is a more understandable, physical aspect Id’ like to share.

Here’s a good example. I was preparing to practice yoga in my home and I invited my love to join me. She came out of the room and said, “practice with you separately?” Why yes, I replied. I was granting her wish. Come to find out later it was not what she wanted. She wanted to practice with me, for me to lead the practice together.

What happened? She called forth or evoked the energy of practicing separately. If she had not brought forth the thought I would have not granted it. This is a “ask and you shall receive” moment, for you attract what you fear the most. Had I thought about it more, I may have asked more details about her request.  Such thoughts were not present within me because I was already preparing my practice. In the practice we eliminate thought and distraction to move into being. So I granted her request and stayed in a state of simplistic energy.  Think of it as “Your wish is granted and I don’t need to inquire further”. Just know your desire and ask for that. Passivity can lead to confusion.

Law of attraction works like this in every moment. When we think or speak of something, we are evoking the creative energy of that thought, the ability to create it. Some of these creations are immediate and others are over time as the energy we put forth is a smaller subtler voice in our heads.

In conversations we may acknowledge certain beliefs when a topics comes up, sometimes passively, but do not put our attention to it regularly.  These little acknowledgments are like small  bank deposits. This is also known by motivational guru Jeff Olson as the Slight Edge, little things we say, do and believe over time that culminate into reality. It ‘s a constant law  which can disrupt our life or bring us constant joy and happiness .

The God energy we seek to humble ourselves to, wishes for us to be happy and achieve our desires. This God force provides our ability to use free will to create it.  Think of God as saying yes to our every thought whether we really want it or not. It is for us to understand this great power. Evoking or calling forth problems is in our hands, or should I say, minds.

Be the change you wish to see. Be how you wish to be. If you wish to be happy, healthy and wealthy. Begin with being happy. Personal happiness does not require any external circumstances. How about using the slight edge and begin to be healthy? How about using your happy, healthy self to guide you to the perfect accomplishment for your version of wealth?

In yoga we surrender to the Slight Edge philosophy. We seek to only move forward in our physical transformation by a single micro-movement at a time. The true practice of yoga forces us to be in the moment. We learn that through surrender and humility transformation comes quicker be it reconditioning or healing . It’s a true example of the subtlety of the Law of Attraction. We are placing the vision of what we want in our mind. Then we surrender to the experience rather than forcing it and it comes quicker. It’s a lesson I’ve taken to heart and practiced in all aspects of my life.

Whether immediate or slow you mold the space around you every moment. Mold your masterpiece. I hope this helps.

Much Aloha

Mindfulness for Greater Benefits within Yoga Postures

Mindfulness is a secret ingredient to achieving greater health benefits within yoga and other healing modalities.

To an experienced practitioner we understand that the yoga postures, even with their specific names, are only guides along a certain path. A yoga pose is not a finished product. The benefits are revealed during the process. The only thing we seek to obtain is to be 100% present within our body as we move through the yoga postures, opening, strengthening, lengthening, healing, restructuring. Learning to be present to how our body transforms, this is Mindfulness.  In any posture, there is always something more that can be transitioned through. Each and every yoga posture holds benefits that exceed our expectations.

yoga alignment and proper movement

What it is we are actually doing in “yoga.” What are the yoga postures all about?

yoga is great for skiers!

Think of yoga asanas, or postures, as a ski hill. We all go down the same hill. Some take the bunny slope and others take the steeper trails. The hill is the same.  This is why you see photos of people in Standing Bow Pulling Pose, some with their back stiff and straight and foot  barely over their hip and others with their back nicely curved and leg way up over their head. It’s the same pose just different levels, same beauty. The beauty is that both can have the same amount or lack of mindfulness.

The benefits are the same no matter what level one practices at.

Every advanced posture starts with a basic move. Think of it like the ski hill,  learning to stand on your skis is the first step to conquering the hill. Standing on two feet without falling over must be mastered  before we practice standing on one leg. We think of it as mindfulness creating clarity for where we are in our endeavors.

Standing pose can be of great benefit in yoga

Yoga teachers won’t expect you to reach completion, but rather be conscious/ mindful of your movements. This is why all levels of practice benefit the same. Mindfulness keeps us in check.

Hatha Yoga.

In every yoga posture there are two forces at work, hence the meaning of Ha-tha, sun and moon. There is strength and  flexibility, the agonist and antagonist muscle reactions. One muscle contracts while another, or others in a muscle group, relax. Therefore each pose contains two reactive forces.

agonist antagonist muscle in yoga

Within the yoga poses is also the compression or tourniquet effect. Internal organs muscles and tissue are compressed and squeezed in many yoga postures. The idea is like squeezing and flushing as if ringing out a dirty towel. The compression forces fluid out, and on the release, allows fresh blood to come through. I’ve found these compression aspects to be of very high value in my practice.

low back pain releiver

No matter how in-depth or uncomfortable a yoga posture is, they all become the same when you approach them carefully with mindfulness. So think of mindfulness in yoga postures like  driving your car at night around a blind corner.  Going too fast can lead to collision with an unforeseen obstacle. Therefore the approach to each pose should be done with mindfulness.

The proverbial man in meditation IS the clear depiction of yoga.

One pointed focus is what becomes meditation.  It’s Inner focus and attention in the moment which provides insights leading to transformation.

I’ve taught beginners who are masters at mindfulness. I’ve also witnessed advanced practitioners become frustrated in their practice from expectation. This becomes our challenge. The path of mindfulness is like a blending of two worlds, of doing and not doing.

Any gymnast or dancer can do “poses” easy. Don’t let people with advanced body movements influence you. It is the process of the pose that defines your level of yoga understanding.

It takes practice….lots of it. By the way, that’s why we call it a yoga “practice.” Keep it up.

Coastline Complexity – Our Two Earth Worlds

Our coastline boasts great beauty, but can be something of a paradox.

Coastlines the merging of two worlds, water-world with land, the underworld with the over-world.

the ancient seas and our two worlds
Coastline Complexity

Where coastlines exist, humans find magic.  We ponder life, seek answers and appreciate nature’s magnificence.  While living most of my life within coastal cities, I have found the magnificence of the coastline carries some interesting oppositions. A coastline draws the wealthy to build homes and the homeless to find comfort.  The coastline is also where waste pushed into the sea is returned to  land. On the most isolated beaches we find tons of waste returned from the sea. On warm weather beaches, homeless and the destitute leave waste of their own.

Coastlinesare the dumping point for our misdeeds

All walks of life seek to retreat and vacation on coastlines. We swim in the water where it is safe,  safe from the wild deep and dangerous creatures, but it’s the crust, the outer edge, the dregs of earth’s ripple we swim.

The coastline can be like a kitchen blender stirring and breaking everything up into small pieces including body parts of those using the coastline as a sport. We find treasures and secret messages in bottles sent out to sea in hopes of reaching a magical outcome. Our fantasy with the coastline runs deep. Even the Sirens of Mythology used the coastline to attract and destroy those whom fall prey to the voice of the coastline creatures.

taming the oceans waves Surfing the edge of our coastline

Coastlines are transition points.

Rogue waves consume land life.  Others leap from the mystery of life on the edge of seaside cliffs. There is a human drive to see and feel the coastlines beauty unaffected by the transitional boundary lines.

Rouge waves on our coastlines

We fall into the fantasy of white water.  As a child this white water was mingled with black tar which took hours to scrub off and fade away.   Many sprinkle the ashes of loved ones on the waters edge, as if the sea entitles them to merge with a stronger force, to spread throughout the planet and travel to distant worlds.

offering ashes of loved ones from our coastlines

On a Santa Monica beach, a rogue wave washed my infant body from the comfort of my mothers arms under our shaded beach blanket. When the wave retreated I was found lying in the arms of earths sandy berm.  To this day I get anxious when I’m away from the sea for too long.  Sometimes I feel my infant body replaced with the spirit of another,  a more watery being. Or did the feeling of our saline earth washing over my new skin possess me to never forget….

we are earths mystery

We are water creatures on land. We are the mystery.

In yoga we seek to always be in the mystery. Surrendering allows us to experience the now. Yoga asanas or postures become an intense experience with the attitude of surrender. We learn to be unknowing. We practice without expectation, for the wave of uncertainty looms in every moment. Seeking to be present allows the subtle energy of life show us who we are.

When Natural Healing isn’t Working

Our own ideas about natural healing usually get in the way

If natural healing isn’t working than you are doing something unnatural that is effecting your progress. Healing Occurs Naturally. I saw this on a bumper sticker in Flagstaff, Arizona. Stated so clearly, we don’t even have to think about. It’s a state of being. People have driven so far off course in their thoughts that the process of allowing healing to occur naturally is undermined.  The natural abilities of our human existence are not understood.

In the universe as well as in our bodies The macro and the micro are the same.

Each part contains the whole. The way we recover from a scratch is the way we recover from cancer or other diseases. Provide the environment for healing and allow it to happen naturally. We clean the wound and cover it. We clear the issues causing the disease and let healing begin. But where the scratch took only a second to create, other diseases are caused by a more lengthy onslaught of exposure and behaviors. As a scratch can heal in a day, other diseases take a little longer for recovery, long enough to delve into the process of how it all happened. Delving into the process many times is reconstructing ones entire belief system. My mentor Dr Richard Schulze has always said they wouldn’t accept anyone into their healing clinic, of which they have helped cure all 4th stage diseases, unless the patient is willing to look within.

In a coming two part series I will outline the intense and committed process I went through to heal my liver and gut disease which was on a spiral to destroy my living existence. My system shut down and I lost 30 pounds in two months. To be published later this week.  In the mean time get a warm-up with Dr. Schulze. Aloha.

The Maui pot

Yes a lot of people smoke weed on the islands, but that’s not the pot I am refer-ing to.

Yesterday a couple in a rental car stopped next to us along the side of the Hana Highway and approached us to get some information. They are farmers from Indiana, real farmers with 3,000 acres of family farm land. They were nice and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with them. There was one thing she mentioned that stood out for me.  She said as they were traveling from their hotel touring the land, she noticed there are a lot of people on Maui and aside from the tourists staying in hotels, there was very few housing developments. She asked herself and me, “where does everybody live.” I told her there are many hidden developments around the Island, but she hit on a critical issue, the epic housing shortage on Maui.

Here you find people occupying every type of living arrangement imaginable. There are those who live from their backpack, individuals and families who live from their car, truck or van and others who live in structures.  Those able to manifest actual “housing” might find everything from converted school buses, barns, garages, sheds and storage units. If lucky, you’ll find an actual room in a house with decent folk, studio or guest house. There are apartment buildings and homes in the larger city areas, but the competition and cost is more than most are willing to deal with, trumped by the wealthy who can over-bid asking prices.

All that being said, there is a unique and even symbiotic relationship that happens with all groups of people here. Everyone knows about the challenges we face and generally have compassion for all people.

Like anywhere, there are the few who lose control of their lives and fall into addiction to pharmaceuticals or alcohol and in turn lose control of their respect for the nature or others. Even these folks find a way to get along and are usually found in areas inhabited by the like-minded. We learn to steer clear of these folks by keeping our vibration at a frequency that shields and protects us.

The “pot” I am referring to is this melting pot of people learning to live and find the Aloha in their lives here on Maui. The police, the locals, those living in their cars and those living from their backpack find compassion for the human experience.  I’ve seen people go through some tough humbling experiences, and the strength I see in their eyes is the beauty of humanity.

The contrast to this are those who pretend that they are in control. They talk too much, name drop, show-off with behaviors influenced by television.  There are many talented people here, and eventually, like a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle and when the ego is subdued, we find our place.

This melding is challenged by some locals who are not happy with the growing crowds on the island. We must remember. This crowding is not a Maui thing. Our exponential population growth is world-wide. There are as many folks leaving Maui as those coming in. The human desire to have three and four babies has put us in a critical situation with the growth of our population.  It’s why I left the beaches of Southern California. It was to the point I wouldn’t leave my place in Malibu on weekends for the hassle of growing traffic and delays getting to and from my place. It’s even more reason to find compassion and teach new ways of thought, and new ways of being. We are in this together.

So if you are reading this from somewhere on the island or from the frozen fields of Sweden thank you for sending a bit of compassion to all who are learning to meld together on this ever-growing experience on earth. It’s the experience of our lives.

Connected to Disconnectedness

Recently I have been deeply into my connection to the natural world.

Being in the presence of like minded folks is important for maintaining a stream of consciousness for ones beliefs. If we believe the world is difficult, hanging out with happy people will create conflict. Those who believe in unlimited abundance and prosperity in a loving world will find a challenge when in the circle of fearful folks.

In my life as a full time teacher and practitioner of the sacred wisdom of yoga, I find myself disconnecting more and more. Even in the so called “spiritual communities” I have encountered contradictions and disbelief.  The more I disconnect from the social element the more I find joy, intrigue, wonder and wisdom from the life blood of the natural world.

P1140919

Whenever I return from secluded locations to the city, the first thing I notice is the plethora of ads for cancer and other diseases, as if a warning for those coming into these city’s. Or is it a creative way to create more disease through subliminal messages? It’s a good indicator of the environment cities have create.

Regrets1

When I am in nature, the knowing of natural health and vitality becomes clear. Our bodies are are biological, enzymatic, natural beings. Food is our medicine not just when we are sick but everyday at every meal. Nature is what feeds the cells of our body to re-create itself daily. This is part of the wisdom I feel when I am alone with nature with the fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and leaves.

organicproduce

In the city one is subjected to all kinds of messages to undermine the true power of our mother earth and her nutrients for our life. When people gather and talk about these messages there is even a greater attraction to the things that are harmful for us. The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus upon you attract. So when a group of people are together talking about what is currently happening that they don’t like, or talking about the tragedies they see, they are putting all their energy into these thoughts and thus attracting more of the same.

So it’s important to observe life but not be inundated with the problems people create. Be in the world, but not of the world would be the appropriate axiom for life today. Know what is around and offer the majority of your thought to the wonderful things which deserve and need your thoughtful energy to grow.

Disconnect as much as necessary from those who offer their energy to fear and gather in the circles of those who speak clear and prosperously. But to establish a clear connection to source and love better to leave out the human aspect altogether.

The gift of mother nature is pure, the messages and self power that can be learned and nurtured within, is grand. Caring for ourselves is a full-time event and today we need all the support and power and wisdom we can gather to fulfill human life.

The spirit of nature, of God, will forever feed you and provide the life of your dreams, just have faith in your greatness. Become the masters. I love you.

Yoga of Tears

Tears are a reflection of emotion. It is the physical manifestation of the emotion of sadness. Just like the way anger is fear realized, tears are the process of feeling the emotion of sadness. It is sadness realized.
Emotion, itself, is simply the reaction to thought: Thought –> Emotion –> Realization of Emotion.

Finding oneself in the feeling of sadness can be a deep hole. It can feel like a constant flow of emotion until a different thought can be realized. This is why people cry for days, weeks, and months. Their belief about a circumstance is so confirmed within them that only the feeling of sadness exists. Hence the corresponding physical reaction of crying is manifested. This will continue until there can be a new thought, a new emotion, and thus, a new physical reaction.

Regrets1
Tears are actually a mechanism to let this powerful energy created through feelings, out. It’s like the way exercise is a release when one is feeling fear of frustration, tears are a mechanism to release fear of sadness. (Fear the category as in the movie of Casablanca”)

Fear or love? Fundamentally, this is the big question, and the best tool when learning to live a happy life. Understanding our feeling at the root level, reducing it to its simplest form, fear or love, provides the awareness of what emotion we are reacting from, and thus attracting in our life. For as one confirms fear (or love) in their life, they attract a world which confirms those fears (or love). It is done by default. What one believes one receives.

“We don’t see the world the way it is. We see the world the way we are.”

Tears are good! They are a mechanism to allow energy to flow through the physical body. It is the process of sadness moving through in physical form. Like a river flowing it is energy moving from the circumstances created, washing away and giving life at the same time. It is in this constant flow of energy through tears that (eventually) brings a new thought and thus a new reaction where healing can begin. It’s where redemption can be found.

Holding emotion in and not releasing the energy in a physical way is caused by the fear of fear. To fear feeling the feelings of fear is the highest form of fear. This can lead to a life of fear which inevitably involves the corresponding physical manifestation by attracting life experiences based on fear. “The Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”, First Inaugural Address, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Feminine Strong
When I was 18, I wrote a book entitled, “The Playground Network” from the forceful beginning of life. In this book, I stated the need, as adults, to stay free from limiting beliefs about life. I spoke about the natural law of abundance and asked the question: Why all the fear? Life is wonderful at every level.

Suicide would be much higher had we not had the inner knowing of strength over fear, but we do, and we feel it. From this idea some of the most respected peers have pondered the proverbial fact: Our only real question in life is whether or not to kill ourselves. For in this question is the decision to live and to experience another day of being human. For the experience of life itself stimulates all emotions.

The premise of my early book was simple: learn to be okay with feeling what it’s like to be human. Tears are part of it. They are the manifestation of energy to move through the body and offer new life to the self.

In harmony

Wandering Angels

Wandering Angels

Sometime, within the time span of our lives, we encounter beings who present themselves at the perfect time, offering the perfect solution, inspiration, support wisdom, etc, just when we need it.  Many times it is as unexpected as a falling star, a gem in the mire.

Some people find these encounters unbelievable coincidences, while others realize this as a signature of the spirits who lead them along the path of their highest joy.

These beings are angels, wandering angels I call them. Though some may not actually wander, and find home in a secure residence. They have qualities that are usually unexpected, qualities that show up at times of serendipity. These may be the mail person with unequaled knowledge of astronomy, or the construction worker who can quote every line in a Shakespeare classic.

Angels have certain qualities that are run deep and show up at perfect, opportunistic times.

Then there are the true wanderers, those who show up, perform miracles, then like the changing of seasons, find  their way to move like the wind. Wandering angels, have a spirit which is hard to tame.  Their beauty and skills are not meant to be held in one place for too long. We can see these beings as creative geniuses, even tortured souls. It’s as if they don’t belong here. Many times they have a hard time relating to the earthly mentality. Some of these beings have a good foundation for handling themselves on earth while others have a difficult time getting along and live a short life filled with addiction or strife.

These beautiful souls find their way into our hearts. We feel the depth of who they are, and desire to know them. They may even be our siblings, our parents, or friends, but there is just something, that seperates them from us.

Wandering angels have  a place to be, although, even they themselves do not know where that is.  Even those with a firmer grasp on earthly expectations can find themselves wondering why they have come forth, and fantasize about how they will leave. They see the absurdity of the mundane lives humans create and the captivity of society. They don’t usually fit in, or at best find a place within the healing arts just to keep themselves well.  Wandering angels can be millionaires or homeless, sometimes both.

There are even those who know they have gifts to share, but are afraid to let go to find their true selves. So instead they succumb to the insanity of attachments and peer pressure.  Many of us on this earth now are angels, which is why it is getting harder and harder to fit-in to the binding forces put on us by religion and government.

When a soul decides to be free, when we decide to give faith the power in our life,  that is when the angels appear as needed. It becomes a natural process and a guiding light for our creations. At this point of freedom, our creations then become much more unique to our expression of individuality within the space of oneness of humankind. We realize that harmony with earth and angels is possible and all the magic we need to live our dreams is at hand.

Angels are multiplying and gathering forces in mighty strength, but not to overcome an evil force, but to instead create a new vision, leaving old paradigms to fade away. Are you ready to join in?

In the mean time, when a wandering angel appears in your life, give them hope. Share your own light, support them however you can, and allow them to be free. They are the leaders.
