Big God Yes

There’s a surge of people expressing their experiences with the Law of Attraction, a life process known by great achievers throughout the earth. Some feel it’s about vision boards and mantras. Others believe you must think of something for a long period of time as a separate exercise of some sort. Few understand the deeper, subtle, and complex facets of it all in every moment of our lives.

Science now knows there is a force fields all around us. Dark matter is what we used to call space. There is no “space” there is only matter in different forms. We literally mold our lives from the matter around us, like molding clay with our thoughts.

Besides the quantum-physics aspect of the law of attraction, there is a more understandable, physical aspect Id’ like to share.

Here’s a good example. I was preparing to practice yoga in my home and I invited my love to join me. She came out of the room and said, “practice with you separately?” Why yes, I replied. I was granting her wish. Come to find out later it was not what she wanted. She wanted to practice with me, for me to lead the practice together.

What happened? She called forth or evoked the energy of practicing separately. If she had not brought forth the thought I would have not granted it. This is a “ask and you shall receive” moment, for you attract what you fear the most. Had I thought about it more, I may have asked more details about her request.  Such thoughts were not present within me because I was already preparing my practice. In the practice we eliminate thought and distraction to move into being. So I granted her request and stayed in a state of simplistic energy.  Think of it as “Your wish is granted and I don’t need to inquire further”. Just know your desire and ask for that. Passivity can lead to confusion.

Law of attraction works like this in every moment. When we think or speak of something, we are evoking the creative energy of that thought, the ability to create it. Some of these creations are immediate and others are over time as the energy we put forth is a smaller subtler voice in our heads.

In conversations we may acknowledge certain beliefs when a topics comes up, sometimes passively, but do not put our attention to it regularly.  These little acknowledgments are like small  bank deposits. This is also known by motivational guru Jeff Olson as the Slight Edge, little things we say, do and believe over time that culminate into reality. It ‘s a constant law  which can disrupt our life or bring us constant joy and happiness .

The God energy we seek to humble ourselves to, wishes for us to be happy and achieve our desires. This God force provides our ability to use free will to create it.  Think of God as saying yes to our every thought whether we really want it or not. It is for us to understand this great power. Evoking or calling forth problems is in our hands, or should I say, minds.

Be the change you wish to see. Be how you wish to be. If you wish to be happy, healthy and wealthy. Begin with being happy. Personal happiness does not require any external circumstances. How about using the slight edge and begin to be healthy? How about using your happy, healthy self to guide you to the perfect accomplishment for your version of wealth?

In yoga we surrender to the Slight Edge philosophy. We seek to only move forward in our physical transformation by a single micro-movement at a time. The true practice of yoga forces us to be in the moment. We learn that through surrender and humility transformation comes quicker be it reconditioning or healing . It’s a true example of the subtlety of the Law of Attraction. We are placing the vision of what we want in our mind. Then we surrender to the experience rather than forcing it and it comes quicker. It’s a lesson I’ve taken to heart and practiced in all aspects of my life.

Whether immediate or slow you mold the space around you every moment. Mold your masterpiece. I hope this helps.

Much Aloha

The Enigma of Yoga Postures

To an experienced practitioner we understand that the yoga postures, even with their specific names, are only guides along a certain path. They are not finished products. There is no posture to be obtained. The only thing we seek to obtain is to be 100% present within our body as we move through opening, strengthening, lengthening, healing, restructuring,  present to how our body transforms. In any posture, there is always something more that can be transitioned through.

To teach this path is a chance for those new to yoga to understand what it is we are actually doing in “yoga.”

Think of yoga asanas, or postures, as a ski hill. We all go down the same hill. Some take the bunny slope and others take the steeper trails. The hill is the same.  This is why you see photos of people in Standing Bow Pulling Pose, some with their back stiff and straight and foot  barely over their hip and others with their back nicely curved and leg way up over their head. It’s the same pose just different levels, same beauty.

The benefits are the same no matter what level one practices at.

Every advanced posture starts with a basic move. Just like the ski hill,  learning to stand on your skis is the first step to conquering the hill. If you’re wanting to learn a one legged posture, then learning to stand on two feet without falling over must be mastered first.

Yoga teachers won’t expect you to reach completion, but rather be conscious of your movements. This is why all levels of practice benefit the same. It’s the process of what you are doing that activates the practice of yoga.

The proverbial man in meditation IS the clear depiction of yoga. One pointed focus. Whether sitting in silence or practicing your body movements with music. It’s that deep inner focus and attention to what is being done now, in this moment which provides your lessons.

I’ve taught beginners who are masters and so called masters who are still beginners.

It’s the path of mindfulness.

Any gymnast or dancer can do “poses” pretty easy. That’s not yoga.

It takes practice….lots of it. By the way, that’s why we call it a yoga “practice.” Keep it up.

Aloha

Coastline Complexity

Our coastlines boast great beauty, but can be something of a paradox. Coastlines are the merging of two worlds, water-world with land, the underworld with the over-world.

Where coastlines exist, humans find magic, ponder life, seek answers and appreciate nature’s magnificence.  Through living most of my life within coastal cities, I have found this magnificence carries some interesting oppositions. Coastlines draw the wealthy to build homes and the houseless and homeless to find comfort.  The coastlines is also where the waste pushed into the sea is returned to the land. On the most isolated beaches can be found tons of waste returned from the sea. On warm weather beaches, homeless and the destitute leave their own waste.

Coastlines are where we go for retreat . We swim in the water where it is safe,  safe from the wild deep and dangerous creatures, but it’s the crust, the outer edge, the dregs of earth’s ripple we swim in. At times it’s akin to a kitchen blender stirring and breaking everything up into small pieces including body parts of those using the coastline as a sport.

Coastlines are transition points. Rogue waves consume land life.  Others leap from the mystery of life on the edge of seaside cliffs. We feel a drive to it’s beauty unaffected by the reality of the boundary lines.

We fall into the fantasy of white water.  As a child this white water was mingled with black tar which took hours to scrub off and fade away.  Many go to the edge to sprinkle the ashes of others who’ve passed away on land as if the sea entitles them to merge with a stronger force, to spread throughout the planet and travel to distant worlds.

As an infant my mother screamed as a rogue wave washed her baby off the comfort of her shaded beach blanket.  Found a short while later tucked into a sand berm, to this day I get anxious when I’m away from the sea for too long.  Was my infant body replaced with the spirit of another,  a more watery being? Or did the feeling of our saline earth washing over my new skin possess me to never forget….

We are water creatures on land. We are the mystery.

In yoga we seek to always be in the mystery. With surrender we experience the now. Yoga asana or postures are done with this surrender. There is no knowing, there is no expectation, for the wave of uncertainty looms in every moment. We seek to be present and let the subtle energy of life become who we are.

Matriarchal Control, Women and Feminism

There was a time, I am told, when we thrived in harmony as a Matriarchal society.  Men were simply around for labor and reproduction… and a little fun, I’m sure.

But this has been long forgotten with generations of destruction to the feminine power, burning of witches and books etc. The takeover of the Patriarchal with its overblown ego attachment to fear through the ages, has nearly destroyed our existence.

In the 70’s, there was the visual outpouring of what had been years of repression from women worldwide. Women were taking charge and kicking ass, opening doors, and re-patterning societal views. It became known as the feminist movement or “feminism.”

ism

ˈizəm/

noun  informal derogatory

noun: ism; plural noun: isms

  1. a distinctive practice, system, or philosophy, typically a political ideology or an artistic movement.

This movement was powerful from it’s physical standpoint. In this movement women had to speak the language of men and act like men in order to be heard, and at the same time fostering a bit of hatred towards men. This in turn put “femininity” in the background for decades. Women were becoming more like men with aggressive behavior which is confusing for the feminine energy. Women were adopting the masculine role in society. The movement brought more equality for women but was a little twisted in some ways. Some say it was a ploy for men to stay in power by de-feminizing women further.

I don’t know any men who prefer a woman to be like a man.  Heterosexual men naturally know their innate tendencies to lose control when a woman squares with her femininity.  So the idea of feminism, though it allowed women to be heard, disintegrated femininity. It seemed necessary to crack some heads and make a clear statement of power, but disintegrated feminine power.

In this New Age of thought about humanity’s existence being in an evolutionary phase, we have gathered by the millions in groups all across the planet to call forth the feminine power to heal. Not the feminist power, but the feminine power.

We are learning to release destructive habits and in turn learn new ways to live and new behaviors to adopt. We are beginning to harmonize heart and mind/body. We seek love for the heart of humankind with the body of Mother Earth. Mother Earth is our life giver. She sustains us and protects us. If we live in harmony with all life on earth, then we can live in abundance, joy and bliss.

The shift is to let go of the fearful and destructive behaviors of the masculine energy. The masculine doesn’t understand how to trust in life. So its fear creates behaviors to protect itself. Fear feels threatened, feels the need to get ahead of the others, to stock-up, and so on. This behavior then leads to more fear that others will take from them, hence the idea of protection, guns, borders, insurance plans, and so on. The never- ending cycle of fear has humanity in a tailspin. Humans have been trying to fix the problem with the same mind that created the problems. This is a behavior in self destruction.

The movie, Avatar, provides a glimpse into the broader horizon for humanity to exist beyond the fear-based power of the Patriarchal society. Today, there are leaders among us whom are living examples of this lifestyle. If men let go of the reigns and release themselves into roles which support women, we can really shift.  Think about it logically (from a man’s brain). Women get to run the show, grandma and grandpa run the kids, and man runs the tools, goes out to work and comes home to procreate and have some fun with his toys.  Isn’t that what men have been wanting anyway?

I believe that it was the  extraction of men from the supportive roles into leadership roles which caused such problems. Men are not equipped for this an in turn use force like a child, afraid and confused.

The biggest challenge is to remove men from power who are not balanced in their understanding and harmony of the feminine. Men are powerful in their creations, but when the physical creation process becomes the only thing that matters, we lose our balance in humanitarian affairs.  Humanity has suffered the fate of this behavior.

We need the strong feminine…but have enough women healed themselves to step into these roles? This is the weak link. There have been few women who embrace the truth of the feminine without clinging to the old man/woman roles or continuing to be whimpering  victims. Real women do exist and more and more are stepping up as candidates for leadership. The strong ones know who they are and with of sense of emerging as an introvert, these women are revealing themselves. It is our responsibility as a society to recognize these strengths and nurture them. The good thing for humanity is that the new generations are becoming more androgynous and this in itself will support our greatest evolution in history, if we survive long enough for our children to grow.

Men……get back to the playground and let the teachers, Curanderas, Kahunas and Shaman lay the guidelines for our future existence.  We must look at this like a person who became addicted to a bad drug. Once the addict comes to the realization of imminent death if it continues, the addiction must stop, immediately, cold turkey. We are at that critical point. We must all stop the way we are living, now. Everyone must adopt a new concept. Though this is nearly impossible given the current brain power of most humans, leaders and super humans must set the guidelines so the masses can follow. (The masses are just a large bulk of energy which can be guided.) If the masses wish to die so be it. If humanity wishes to continue, we must adopt new thoughts about life, the thoughts of wisdom which we’ve forgotten.  Children, take control. Parents, nurture new thought in your children.  Let’s develop new behaviors for humanity. Hell, I am happy to let the feminine lead the way. Maybe now we can all feel safe in the arms of the great mother.

For a personal moment toward devotion to change follow this beautiful healing ceremony.

Hope to see you another day.

When Natural Healing isn’t Working

Here is a simple understanding. If natural healing isn’t working than you are doing something unnatural that is effecting your progress. Healing Occurs Naturally. I saw this on a bumper sticker in Flagstaff, Arizona. Stated so clearly, we don’t even have to think about. It’s a state of being. People have driven so far off course of learning to just “be” collecting beliefs and habits that have undermined the natural abilities of our human existence.

In the universe as well as in our bodies The macro and the micro are the same. Each part contains the whole. The way we recover from a scratch is the way we recover from cancer or other diseases. We provide the environment for healing and allow it to happen naturally. We clean the wound and cover it. We clear the issues causing the disease and let healing begin. But where the scratch took only a second to create, other diseases are caused by a more lengthy onslaught of exposure and behaviors. As a scratch can heal in a day, other diseases take a little longer for recovery, long enough to delve into the process of how it all happened. Delving into the process many times is reconstructing ones entire belief system. My mentor Dr Richard Schulze has always said they wouldn’t accept anyone into their healing clinic, of which they have helped cure all 4th stage diseases, unless the patient is willing to look within.

In a coming two part series I will outline the intense and committed process I went through to heal my liver and gut disease which was on a spiral to destroy my living existence. My system shut down and I lost 30 pounds in two months. To be published later this week.  In the mean time get a warm-up with Dr. Schulze. Aloha.

The Maui pot

Yes a lot of people smoke weed on the islands, but that’s not the pot I am refer-ing to.

Yesterday a couple in a rental car stopped next to us along the side of the Hana Highway and approached us to get some information. They are farmers from Indiana, real farmers with 3,000 acres of family farm land. They were nice and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with them. There was one thing she mentioned that stood out for me.  She said as they were traveling from their hotel touring the land, she noticed there are a lot of people on Maui and aside from the tourists staying in hotels, there was very few housing developments. She asked herself and me, “where does everybody live.” I told her there are many hidden developments around the Island, but she hit on a critical issue, the epic housing shortage on Maui.

Here you find people occupying every type of living arrangement imaginable. There are those who live from their backpack, individuals and families who live from their car, truck or van and others who live in structures.  Those able to manifest actual “housing” might find everything from converted school buses, barns, garages, sheds and storage units. If lucky, you’ll find an actual room in a house with decent folk, studio or guest house. There are apartment buildings and homes in the larger city areas, but the competition and cost is more than most are willing to deal with, trumped by the wealthy who can over-bid asking prices.

All that being said, there is a unique and even symbiotic relationship that happens with all groups of people here. Everyone knows about the challenges we face and generally have compassion for all people.

Like anywhere, there are the few who lose control of their lives and fall into addiction to pharmaceuticals or alcohol and in turn lose control of their respect for the nature or others. Even these folks find a way to get along and are usually found in areas inhabited by the like-minded. We learn to steer clear of these folks by keeping our vibration at a frequency that shields and protects us.

The “pot” I am referring to is this melting pot of people learning to live and find the Aloha in their lives here on Maui. The police, the locals, those living in their cars and those living from their backpack find compassion for the human experience.  I’ve seen people go through some tough humbling experiences, and the strength I see in their eyes is the beauty of humanity.

The contrast to this are those who pretend that they are in control. They talk too much, name drop, show-off with behaviors influenced by television.  There are many talented people here, and eventually, like a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle and when the ego is subdued, we find our place.

This melding is challenged by some locals who are not happy with the growing crowds on the island. We must remember. This crowding is not a Maui thing. Our exponential population growth is world-wide. There are as many folks leaving Maui as those coming in. The human desire to have three and four babies has put us in a critical situation with the growth of our population.  It’s why I left the beaches of Southern California. It was to the point I wouldn’t leave my place in Malibu on weekends for the hassle of growing traffic and delays getting to and from my place. It’s even more reason to find compassion and teach new ways of thought, and new ways of being. We are in this together.

So if you are reading this from somewhere on the island or from the frozen fields of Sweden thank you for sending a bit of compassion to all who are learning to meld together on this ever-growing experience on earth. It’s the experience of our lives.

Aloha

Connected to Disconnectedness

Recently I have been deeply into my connection to the natural world.

Being in the presence of like minded folks is important for maintaining a stream of consciousness for ones beliefs. If we believe the world is difficult, hanging out with happy people will create conflict. Those who believe in unlimited abundance and prosperity in a loving world will find a challenge when in the circle of fearful folks.

In my life as a full time teacher and practitioner of the sacred wisdom of yoga, I find myself disconnecting more and more. Even in the so called “spiritual communities” I have encountered contradictions and disbelief.  The more I disconnect from the social element the more I find joy, intrigue, wonder and wisdom from the life blood of the natural world.

Whenever I return from secluded locations to the city, the first thing I notice is the plethora of ads for cancer and other diseases, as if a warning for those coming into these city’s. Or is it a creative way to create more disease through subliminal messages? It’s a good indicator of the environment cities have create.

Regrets1

When I am in nature, the knowing of natural health and vitality becomes clear. Our bodies are are biological, enzymatic, natural beings. Food is our medicine not just when we are sick but everyday at every meal. Nature is what feeds the cells of our body to re-create itself daily. This is part of the wisdom I feel when I am alone with nature with the fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and leaves.

organicproduce

In the city one is subjected to all kinds of messages to undermine the true power of our mother earth and her nutrients for our life. When people gather and talk about these messages there is even a greater attraction to the things that are harmful for us. The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus upon you attract. So when a group of people are together talking about what is currently happening that they don’t like, or talking about the tragedies they see, they are putting all their energy into these thoughts and thus attracting more of the same.

So it’s important to observe life but not be inundated with the problems people create. Be in the world, but not of the world would be the appropriate axiom for life today. Know what is around and offer the majority of your thought to the wonderful things which deserve and need your thoughtful energy to grow.

Disconnect as much as necessary from those who offer their energy to fear and gather in the circles of those who speak clear and prosperously. But to establish a clear connection to source and love better to leave out the human aspect altogether.

The gift of mother nature is pure, the messages and self power that can be learned and nurtured within, is grand. Caring for ourselves is a full-time event and today we need all the support and power and wisdom we can gather to fulfill human life.
